# SQLite Database Integration 3.0

A new major version of the WordPress plugin that lets WordPress run on SQLite instead of MySQL, with a new database driver built from the ground up.

The new driver has a MySQL lexer and parser written in pure PHP, and a MySQL emulation layer on top of SQLite. The release took nearly two years of work: 160 pull requests and 1,075 commits from 15 contributors.
