# Behat 4.0

A new major version of Behat, the behaviour-driven development framework for PHP, with support for Gherkin rules and tag expressions.

A step can now take both a DocString and a DataTable. Annotations and YAML configuration are gone. Behat is maintained by volunteers, with no company behind it.
